Paul Mendee, Head of Operations

Paul is a Gambian who earns his living in the UK. Paul’s commercial, project management and technical acumen, not least his knowledge of the construction industry both in the UK and in Spain gives us the edge over our competitors in providing value engineered solutions to new build and refurb works. Since graduating at Liverpool Polytechnic (as it was known at the time) in 1991, Paul has worked consistently for main contractors on projects ranging from £500,000 to £30 million responsible for the commercial success of the projects and delivering them on time whilst maintaining high quality standards.

In 2000, Paul set up his own organisation called Lerr Group carrying out construction consultancy direct for contractors in the UK, widening his horizon and building on his massive data base of suppliers and manufacturers of components in the building industry. As the saying goes….. it is not how much money one has, but how effectively one optimises the use of scarce resources, and this is his strength.

Gavin Thornton, Tailored Homes UK

Gavin was born in South Africa and has been a practising architecture both in the UK and South Africa. With his experience mediterreanean styles (Spanish architecture) and an understanding of the cultural and social needs for space, Gavin’s designs are aesthetically pleasing, functional and uses innovative modern day solutions to cater for both people buying homes for an improved lifestyle, for investment/buy to let or purely for a holiday home.

Oliver Banky Njie, Head of Marketing Operations

Mr Oliver Banky, Gambian, has a BA (Hons) degree in Business Studies, and specialises in the areas of Marketing, Accounting and Business strategy. He has attended various courses in Customer Services and other courses in Solar Energy at the Centre for Alternative Technology in Wales. Whilst in the Gambia, Oliver worked at The Central Bank of The Gambia in Internal Audit for about six years before coming to the UK.

In the UK Oliver worked with many organisations, including Public, Private and Internationals – namely, Lancet the medical publishing journal and Amnesty International the Human Rights organisation, - and has a wide and diverse experience in business management.

Momath Cisse, Head of Engineering and Construction, Banjul

Momath is Senegalese with over 10 years experience as a Civil engineer. He has worked for several contracting organisations the latest being Consortium d’Entreprises Dakar as senior engineer and project manager. Momath’s experience ensures innovation is harnessed and offers our Tailored Homes a seamless transition in bringing design experiences from places like Spain and sub-Saharan Africa to The Gambia.
